What wines & spirits to bring for a Halloween party
Posted: Oct 30 2014
The witching hour is back. What could be more horrifying than turning up for a Halloween party that serves boring drinks. Tomorrow's Halloween and if you're heading off to a party or hosting one, here are some fantastic ideas of what to bring / serve:

Crystal Head, Vodka Did you know that Canadian celebrity Dan Aykroyd (most famous for 1984 movie "Ghostbusters") is the man behind the Crystal Head Vodka from Canada? This vodka is described to be impeccably pure with no addictives. We think that the Crystal Head will make an awesome coffee table piece that will keep your guests talking long after Halloween is over. Use this vodka to make a Bloody Mary (3 parts tomato juice, 1 part vodka, Tabasco), a Green Viper vodka (3 parts soda or sprite, 1 part vodka) or a Goblin Gimlet (vodka with a good squeeze of lime). The Dead Arm, Shiraz While it has an absolutely sinister sounding name, this Shiraz from d'Arenberg is actually in reference to the vine disease caused by the fungus Eutypa Lata. When vines are affected by this disease, it often has to be repruned or replanted to remove the diseased portions. One arm of the vine is reduced to dead wood while the other arm thrives and results in grapes with great intensity. We think this beautiful Shiraz from Australia will make an excellent wine for your Halloween dinner. Get it now at our Halloween discounted rates. Devil's Lair, Chardonnay The Devil's Lair from Australia's Margaret River is best known for their Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery has received a "Gold Medal - Royal Adelaide Wine Show 2014" award, amongst several other Australian Gold Medals for their Chardonnay throughout the years and is a beautifully structured wine with aromas of grapefruit, melon and white peach.
